A Resto-Mod Matching Numbers Camaro

Plum Pretty: a Resto Mod Matching Numbers Camaro

1969 Camaro with Champion Radiator built by RK Motors

RK Motors Charlotte did it again, building a stunning resto-mod matching numbers Camaro Z/28 RS that is packed with horsepower and all wrapped up in mesmerizing deep purple metallic paint with white racing stripes. A huge change from it’s original boring Olympic Gold paint job, this 1969 Camaro is a real head-turner!

The heart of this plum-colored beauty is 468 cubic-inch big block V8 paired with a 4-speed Muncie transmission. Braided fuel lines channel fuel through a modern Demon carburetor and into an Edelbrock aluminum intake. The OEM points distributor was replaced by an MSD electronic ignition system. A Champion Cooling Systems all-aluminum radiator with a chrome support and an electric cooling fan were added to keep the big block cool and comfortable. Gorgeous chrome valve covers, air filter housing and master cylinder, along with aluminum pulleys and bow-tie bolts complete the visual feast.

A few more upgrades include:

• Long tube headers
• An aluminized Flowmaster exhaust system
• A GM 10 bolt rear axle
• Power steering and power assisted front disc brakes
• New black vinyl interior replaced the original code 727 white interior from headliner to carpet
• Ken Harrison aftermarket AM/FM radio with cassette player
• A factory tachometer and a factory speedometer, new 4 pack gauge cluster and the chrome Hurst short throw shifter

On the exterior of the Z28 you’ll find hideaway headlights squatting below a 1969 Camaro by RK Motors Charlottecowl-induction hood. Front and rear factory spoilers and the RS grille combine to give the car an edgy appearance.

On the ground you’ll find staggered Vision ‘Legend’ chrome wheels, 17 inches up front and 20 inches in the rear, blanketed by 245/45/17 and 255/35/20 Nexen Z-rated radials.
